I was pretty excited about Jack going after Hodges, but it was a huge let down. No torture, he just promises to fake his death and put him into witness protection. Wow, not cool. The only cool thing was Jack bluffing him about calling the Washington Post, but still not as cool as choking him with a wet towel…
The bad guys plan on launching the attack now because Tony told them it was a good idea. They want to show how the government cannot protect the people and use that to move in and take over the military (the shadow group is a bunch of private security firms like Starkwood).
Jack pretty much knows their plan because he is awesome. He needs CTU’s servers to help target who would be the perfect person to use as a scapegoat. Even though Jack is about to die, he is now the most powerful person in the world. The president has given him full carte blanche.
Seriously, this episode pretty much bored the hell out of me. Listening to Chloe and Janis bicker, watching Jack fall apart. Ugh, I just want to see Jack and Tony square off in combat.
