Christmas 2012

So much has been happening…I thought about making a bunch of separate posts (you know, get that post count up to 300 for the year), but then I realized it would be easier to just write one.

Steelers Game
Lindsey and I met up with our friend’s Cortney and Thad at Sheetz in Johnstown.  We made it down to Pittsburgh by 8:00 a.m. and started tailgating pretty much as soon as we parked.  It was a pretty good time, playing some tailgating games and drinking some beers.  Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:

It was pretty cold, but we dressed quite appropriately.  I wore two hoodies, my jersey, long-johns, jeans, double socks, gloves, and my hat.  My fingers got a little cold during the game, but they soon warmed up with the help of some hand-warmers.

Obviously the game was pretty decent minus the fact that the Steelers lost.  I thought for sure it was going to head into overtime, but then Ben decided to throw a pick and that idea was squashed.  Our seats were okay, if you like being up in the 500s.  At least they were on the 35 yard line, so it was somewhat easy to see.  Although I did not see that Steeler interception, I thought for sure it was batted down.  Oh well.

After the game we went over to the casino and ate dinner while we waited for the parking lots to clear out.  Fortunately, we did not do any gambling, so I did not have to lose any money.  It was a wise decision though, once we left the casino, it was no time at all leaving the city.

Christmas Stuff
I am not going to sit here and tell you about all the great stuff I got for Christmas, but instead I will just give you the lowdown on all the places I went to.  On Christmas Eve, we went to Lindsey’s mom’s house.  Then, on Christmas, we went to my mom’s, and later out to both of my grandparents places.  It was an awesome time seeing everyone.  Okay, I lied, I will tell you about the stuff I got:
-Seven piece luggage set!
-Darth Vader Santa Bobble Head
-A bunch of fantasy novel audiobooks (I will explain)
-A new sweater (the black and red one)
-Under Armour sweatpants
-socks
-Pajama pants
-A nice shirt
The Dark Knight Rises blu-ray
-Pittsburgh Pirates spatula
-A piece that turns the top of your stove into a grill
-Lots of money, some gifts cards, lottery tickets
-Cookies, cupcakes, and chocolate
-And lots of other great stuff…be jealous.

We took a bunch of pictures as well and yes, Lindsey forced me to go outside and take snow pictures.

The major highlight for me on Christmas was not all the above mentioned stuff, but instead it was the picture to the right.

I came out of the shower and tossed my underwear right at the hamper, but instead it got caught on the hanging light-star.  It was pretty damn awesome.

Day After
I started my new job today.  General manager.  The big boss.  I am not going to get into specifics or anything like that, but allow me to mention that the job is in State College, which is 70 miles away from my apartment.

My brother got me a bunch of audiobooks to listen to during my ridiculous ride to and from work.  At first I made fun of him for listening to books, but after awhile, I figured it would be a great way to get to books I want to read, but they always get pushed down my list.

Instead, he went out and found me some fantasy novels that were not on my list.  So far, I am pretty happy he did.  I started with The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.  As I drove over at 4:30 a.m., the book starts out with an amazing fight scene.  I could visualize this opening scene as a movie, an assassin attacking using gravity manipulating powers?  Damn, it was hard to keep up at times, the guy was bouncing off walls and being super-ninja like.  So thank you Adam!
