Free My Beer

I have noticed that Sheetz has been promoting the Free My Beer website.  They have little postcards that you can fill out and send them to your local Congressman.  This got me thinking about how much I have changed in the last few years.

Years ago, I would have been all about this.  I would have done the research and made the arguments about how we needed to end the alcohol monopoly.  I would have discussed how it is such an inconvenience not being able to buy beer at a supermarket or gas station.

Now though…eh, I just do not care.  I suppose it would be nice to be able to buy a case of beer or some wine at Giant Eagle.  I do not drink enough to actually find it a problem to go to the liquor store or beer distributor.

Back then, it would have been great to be able to grab beer and not have to deal with the stupid bar laws and the overpriced twelve-packs.  Out of curiosity, if this law passes, will Sheetz have to stop selling the beer at 2:00 a.m. or could you grab a six-pack at 3:30?  Also, what time is the earliest they would be allowed to sell?

So, what I am going with here is that I have changed, but I suppose some people out there might be interested in this, so they should go to the website and check it out.   Maybe I will drop the postcard in the mail just to be helpful or something.
