2018 Fantasy Baseball Week 17

Pat made a pretty valiant comeback over the weekend. I think it was 6-5 at one point and I was definitely a little nervous. Luckily I had three starting pitchers go on Sunday, which helped me out. Not streaming pitchers this week kind of hurt me in the totals department. Oh well. A win is a win.

KOW–Brian Anderson–KOW

I had some pretty good pitchers this week, but the player I want to feature is Brian Anderson of the Marlins. He has been pretty good all year for Miami and last week was no different. He hit .429 with a .467 OBP. He hit a home run and knocked in two. I am sure if he played somewhere else he would have scored a few more times or plated some more.

Around the League

Gideon 10 Jason 2
Ryan 7 Adam2 5
Offord 11 Dustin 1
James 6 Matt 5
Lindsey 7 Sean 5

Offord almost had the Donut! I think he was up 12-0 late Sunday, but lost that ERA lead. Lindsey helped me out with a big win over Sean. Gideon decided enough with the losing and took his anger out on Jason.

Best Move of the Week

Ryan dropped Shin-soo Choo and picked up Rougned Odor. It was an odd move since Choo was fairly hot (despite a recent cold streak) and Odor has been good this year, but nowhere near the power numbers from a few years ago. Well it payed off well for Ryan. Odor got hot this week and directly helped him win runs, RBIs, and AVG (probably a stretch on this one, but it may have been much closer without Odor). Looking at a bit more, Ryan had plenty of outfielders, but needed a second baseman. Odor allowed him to move Max Muncy around a bit more where needed. Wise decision Ryan!

The New Week

Lindsey has moved back into first place and she takes on Matt this week. Adam2 is technically tied with her by winning percentage, but she must own the tie-breaker. He faces Jason, who dropped to third place and is four and a half games back. Gideon is in fourth and takes on Pat. Offord is in fifth and gets James. I am now in sixth (thanks to my darling wife!) and I take on Sean. This is a huge matchup! And finally we have Ryan and Dustin.

Here is something from the Blade II soundtrack. Yes, I realize Parker Posey was not in this one, but whatever.
