A Long Week

This was a long week. Aside from working a bunch of first shifts, meaning I had to be up at 4:30, but this was also a rough week after the mass shootings. The world is so messed up and it honestly depresses me. Not just the death and destruction (which is depressing), but then the arguments and listening to the opponents of any gun regulation just spitting out stupid NRA talking points. Ugh, it just annoys me and makes me sick.

A few positive updates in life…

We have been taking Payton to soccer on Mondays. It is weird, she started off not very interested in it. She would be all shy and not do what the coach said. Then last week, she had a meltdown before we left. She was screaming that she did not want to go. And that ended up being a great week. She was excited, yelling, and actually kicking the ball. And again, this week she was into it. Definitely good to see.

Kayla & Adam had their second child. His name is Lincoln. I will most definitely call him Link and probably buy him a shield for at least one of his birthdays. Probably should start him off with a wooden sword. It is awesome that he and Logan are even closer in age than Payton & Emelyn. They will (hopefully) be great friends.

We are looking at houses in Johnstown. We contacted our realtor about selling our house. We love our house, but we hate the yard (we want a fence!) and we need something a little bigger. I am excited about the prospect of buying a new house, but not of moving or painting or any of that stuff.

I started watching Mindhunter this week. Damn, pretty freakin’ good and why did no one tell me that part of it was about Altoona? Okay, I do remember that being in the news when the show came out, but I must have forgotten.

This long week is over. I am off for the weekend and have all sorts of fun plans.
