I saw this billboard today in Ebensburg and it made me laugh. The other day, a lady came into work and wanted to buy some gift cards, but she was upset that there were no “Merry Christmas” ones on the rack, just the “Happy Holidays” cards.
She went into a tirade about how it is ridiculous to not say Merry Christmas and how people are ruining this country with all of this Happy Holiday bullshit. I made a comment about how we have plenty more of the Christmas ones in the back and then naturally I had to toss a comment in about how maybe Jewish people like the holiday cards. She snorted and rolled her eyes.
The whole thing reminded me of this Jon Stewart piece about the War on Christmas.
And if you really think that atheists have it so great and we are out there tying to ruin Christmas for all the good Christian folk, read this article.
Also, I need to point out how idiotic Bill O’Reilly sounds when he claims that Christianity is not a religion. I realize that wikipedia is not the most reliable source, but seriously this is the first line of the entry:
