Poor Samson

Last night we took Samson outside and he went to the bathroom around 8:00, he had been out a few times during the day, so he was pretty well drained. I went to bed around 11:00 and he was already asleep in bed with Lindsey. He usually wakes up if he needs to go back out. He normally sleeps through the night and wakes up when Payton gets all of us up. We then take him out first thing in the morning.

I wake up to him barking, but not his “I heard a noise” bark, but his “I need to poop” bark. I looked at the clock and it was only 1:00 a.m. and because I had to be up at 5:00, Lindsey said she would take him out. They came back and Lindsey said that he peed and pooped. About an hour later, he started barking again, so Lindsey was kind enough to go outside one more time. For good measure, Payton woke up crying at like 4:00, so I went in and rubbed her back for a few minutes until she fell back asleep.

I went to work and later in the day Lindsey calls me. She said that Samson kept having to go outside and his poops were becoming more and more liquid. She said that it finally culminated in him having an accident in the house. She was not able to get her shoes on and Payton situated fast enough and he pooped on something of Payton’s.

Seriously, why do dogs always pick the weirdest places to poop? One time when he was a puppy, he pooped in floor vent. That was fun cleaning!

Anyways, Lindsey told me that she called the vet and he said that Samson could only eat chicken & white rice, and we could give him Pepto. I stopped at the store for rice and Pepto.

Once home, I took him outside and he did his weird liquid squirt, then I came inside and said “how the hell do you give a dog Pepto?” I tried putting some one a spoon, he just ran away from it. Then I tried to use the little cup and pour it down his throat. He thrashed around and spit it out. Ugh. The next time I gave it to him, I just poured some in his mouth then held his muzzle shut until he swallowed it. I wish I could say he is feeling better…but he is still going out every hour because of the non-solid shit sludge.

Seriously, how sad does he look? Everyone should come over and rub his tummy until he feels better.
