This is Jammin’ With Josh. Each week I take a look at one of the bands that I love. Or perhaps it will be a band that I just discovered and think you should check out. Or maybe it will just be a way for me to post music videos. Honestly, no one will ever know.
A friend of mine recently posted on Facebook that she was going to a concert and one of the performers was Stephen Malkmus. I had not heard or thought of Malkmus in probably 15 years.
It is weird, I honestly do not know how or why I bought his first album. I want to say that I was at Mike’s Movies & Music in State College and it was on one of the new release racks, or like future hits. Or maybe they had some kind of “Pick of the Week.” I seriously cannot remember. I definitely enjoyed the album. The two songs that stuck with me the most are “Trojan Curfew” and “The Hook.”
Since I started thinking about him, I decided to check out a few more songs that he has released since 2001…
