One of the podcasts I listen to has a commercial for the Toyota RAV4. They keep saying that it has Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive. What the hell does that even mean? Maybe we should break it down…
Dynamic (/dīˈnamik/)
1. (of a process or system) characterized by constant change, activity, or progress.
Torque (/tôrk/)
1. a twisting force that tends to cause rotation.
Vectoring (gerund of vector /vektər/)
1. direct (an aircraft in flight) to a desired point.
Constantly changing, twisting force that causes rotation, which directs to a desired point all-wheel drive. So basically, a fancy way to say that the wheels go around. Good job marketing department! Repackaged bullshit.
