The Wheel of Time series has added another cast member: Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran. Lan was one of my favorite characters. We first meet him as Moiraine’s warder and then learn that he is the king of Malkier (which is a nation that was overrun). He takes Rand under his wing and trains him with the sword. He also gives Rand council, which at times goes against Moiraine’s advice.
I remember him having a huge role early in the series, then his story tapering off a bit (I will not spoil anything), but then his final arc is incredibly cool. There is a sword fight in the final book that if done right, could be the highlight of the entire series (no pressure Amazon!).
