Life on Venus

When you think of places to find the possibility of life outside of Earth, I am guessing the hell that is Venus never comes up. And yet, as Ian Malcolm would say “life finds a way.”

Okay, so scientists did not actually discover alien life on Venus. I am sure some people are misunderstanding what was found. What they did find was phosphine in the atmosphere. On Earth, phosphine comes from bacteria (extremophiles surviving without oxygen). Right now, astronomers are trying to come up with different solutions as to the origin of the phosphine.

The exciting part of this story is the way astronomers are looking for life in the solar system. Obviously it would be difficult to find some microbes or whatever, but instead they are searching for the signs of organisms.

Very exciting time.
