Political Ramblings: Part 3

It has been a crazy week since my last political rambling. Trump has COVID-19, he is rage tweeting hundreds of random weird things everyday, there was a plot to kidnap the Michigan governor, the VP debate, and who knows what else I am forgetting. Every item that happened would have been a major news story during normal times, but in the Trump Era, this shit is just an everyday story and we all wait until the next crazy thing happens.

I watched the Vice Presidential Debate and was struck by how little the media has learned since 2016. They are still trying to play the whole “cover both sides equally” game. After the debate I kept hearing “Harris and Pence avoided answering questions and interrupted each other.” Again, making it seem like it was equal.

Harris fully ducked one question (to my knowledge) and that was about court packing. She pivoted a few times or wasted time telling a personal story to avoid the question, but that is standard in these debates. Pence however, there were multiple questions that he flat out never answered. He would say “I want to follow up with what Senator Harris said…” and then he would use his two minutes talking about the previous topic. And some of those questions were pretty important, such as will there be a peaceful transfer of power? 

Then comes the interruptions. Pence started out interrupting or running over his time. When the moderator said to Kamala that she was out of time, Harris stopped and said thank you. Then Pence just ran over and said “I need to finish this.” Once he started interrupting Harris, then she would go over her time and say “I need to finish this.” 

Hell, while I am ranting…I love how the media keeps criticizing Biden and Harris because they will not give an answer to court packing. Yet, they are glossing over how Trump and Pence both said they have a healthcare plan. What? Since when??? I know that the media ignores the lies they tell and just wants to focus on something new, but they cannot just keep tossing out that this “we have a much better healthcare plan than Obamacare” without actually showing any details. Very frustrating!

Okay, moving on…

I am not buying the Conway family drama. I know many of my friends like to think of Kellyanne’s daughter as some whistle-blower/resistance hero, but I think this is all fake. I believe the Conway family is trying to set up a reality TV show. Something with a stupid pun on their name. You wait and see, there will be ads for this show coming soon.
