Dear Disney, Please Do This!

I have written a few times about how to fix Star Wars. It seems the solution is clear: Dave Filoni. Disney needs to put him in charge of the Star Wars creative direction. Maybe some role like Kevin Feige over at Marvel.

Kathleen Kennedy is great as the leader of LucasFilm, but they need someone to make the actual story decisions. Someone who can connect all the side projects and movies into one cohesive narrative.

Filoni (and Jon Favreau since he created The Mandalorian) saved Star Wars by linking the sequel films with Rebels and The Clone Wars. He seems to have a better understanding of the Force than most of the people involved. Granted, sometimes I do not like the direction he goes (I am not a fan of the Father/Daughter/Son/Mortis idea–while intriguing, I feel like it is turning Star Wars into a Christianity metaphor), but he has a direction and he keeps it consistent.

If you are reading this Disney (I am sure they have my page bookmarked), then make it happen! Promote Dave Filoni to VP of Creative Decisions at LucasFilms (is that how the company is structured? I have no clue).

The first thing I would do if I was Dave would be to find a way to bring KOTOR into the new Star Wars canon. We had a mention of Revan in The Rise of Skywalker (the Revan Legion of the Sith Army or whatever it was called). For those that are not familiar, KOTOR is Knights of the Old Republic, which is a Star Wars video game (I never played it, but have a few friends who loved it, so I have sat and read about the game to the point that I feel like I played it, haha). It would not be difficult to adapt this into either a series of movies or a TV show. Naturally it looks like Filoni is introducing the idea into The Mandalorian.

Yeah, for those that are eagle-eyed, Mando mentions the HK-87 assassin droids. Revan created the HK-47, which is obviously a precursor to these ones. Also, Tython is a planet that Revan attacked (I think to destroy the temple there?). So yeah, Filoni knows what he is doing.
