I love the Time “Person of the Year” issue. Not because I am a big fan of the magazine or anything. Hell, I have never actually read one of the person of the year issues. I just love how angry people become over the issue.
A few years ago it was Donald Trump and people were quick to point out that Hitler also was named person of the year by Time. This year it is Joe Biden & Kamala Harris, which naturally pisses off all the people on the right. I find it funny that all the people screaming online that the Person of the Year should be healthcare workers, are all the people who refuse to wear a mask, social distance, follow restrictions, or take the vaccine when it is available. Yeah, you assholes really care about healthcare workers.
Time says the person of the year is supposed to be someone who changes the course of history and blah blah blah. Honestly, they pick someone that help them sell magazines. They know an elected official (especially in today’s political climate) will elicit an immediate reaction. People on the left will buy it to show their support of Biden & Harris, while Trumpers will click on the link/engage with the post in order to share their outrage with the world. And guess what? That engagement generates ad revenue. So way to go people, you really showed Time Magazine.
