Bathroom #2

The second bathroom is finally done as well. I should probably mention that I did not do the work. O’Donnell Contracting from Johnstown did all the work. I am not that skilled. I can hang a picture or change a light, but completely remodeling a bathroom is way beyond my expertise.

As I mentioned in the post about the other bathroom, I was kicked out of the master bath and would now be sharing with the kids. This bathroom had the most changes happen. We wanted to make it bigger and put in a double vanity, so that meant ripping the closet out and extending the bathroom to the edge of the hallway. We kept the shower that was in there because it was in good shape. The other big change was having them put in drywall instead of plaster walls. They saved us some money by just putting in drywall where they could, then sanding the old walls and doing a skim coat over them. The walls turned out great, but naturally it created a ton of dust throughout the house (even with them putting up a barrier to contain the dust.

As you can see, the old bathroom was small. The big closet was nice, but it just seemed like a ton of wasted space. Here is the new look…

We put in a new exhaust fan with heat as well as some nice recessed lighting. We still need to get some rugs in there and we need the normal bathroom stuff, like toothbrush holders, garbage can, etc. I am just glad it is done.
