As the Loki series comes to a close, everyone has a ton of theories. And naturally those theories are pretty out there. Will it turn out that Kang is behind the Time Keepers? Or maybe the Time Keepers are actually connected to Galactus? Or blah blah blah. You get the point.
The best theory I have heard was from my friend Matt. He thinks that old Loki is actually the big villain. It makes sense, especially when you consider that these Disney+ MCU shows have kept the villains small (or at least the villains have not been some tease for the upcoming movies). For example, in WandaVision everyone thought that it had to be Mephisto. And then they were let down when it turned out to be Agatha (also, there was a weird theory floating that Ultron would be revealed). The in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier people were upset when the Power Broker turned out to be Sharon (people thought it was Kingpin and a variety of other villains).
So my point here is that we should not expect this show to be different. The shows have been about the development of the characters. And the villains are generally right there. It would make sense that in a show full of Lokis, one of them would be the villain. It would also fit with what the old man Loki told us (he created an illusion to fool even Thanos), so it would make sense that his final illusion would be to full Loki. What is the endgame? Who knows, control the universe, rid himself of other Lokis, make friends…
If I were a gambling man, I would put solid money on it not turning out to be Kang. If I were betting, I would put my money on old man Loki. Then I would take a long-shot bet on Miss Minutes. I am telling you, she is up to no good.
Anyways, we just have a few days to wait and find out. I have enjoyed this series (I have enjoyed all of them) and hope that it ends with the following things: Mobius on a jet skit and Loki back in the MCU (hopefully he shows up at some critical point in Thor: Love and Thunder and saves the day, and is like “you would not believe what I have been through to get here!”).
