I had a bonehead moment the other day. This song plays at work all the time and I correctly identified to one of my employees. Then a day or two later, it came on again and for some reason I questioned myself and got it in my head that it was Moody Blues. I then told the employee that I made a mistake and that the song was by Moody Blues. I came home that night and again, realized I was wrong and decided to just look it up. Like I knew “Touch of Grey” was by Grateful Dead, but for some reason I was confusing myself if that was actually the song (yeah, weird, I know).
Fun fact: this song made it the highest on the Billboard charts (I think top ten overall and made it to #1 on the rock chart, maybe?).
Fun story time…
My dad used to tell us a story about he and a friend went to see Jerry Garcia play a small concert at a college somewhere (any Jerry Garcia historians want to let me know if this is a true story). Garcia comes out and starts tossing joints out to the crowd. He asks if they audience likes the Grateful Dead and when everyone cheers, he says that he has a surprise for them…and the rest of the band comes out and they play an incredible show. It is hard to know how much of the story is true or not. I cannot imagine where my dad would have went to see them play.
