Forged in Fire

The fourth book of Destiny’s Crucible from Olan Thorensen was good enough that I am probably hooked on the series, but still had plenty of problems. Thorensen continues to just add in skills for Yozef. Aside from being an expert on military tactics (as well as his normal job as a chemist), he also is completely able to set up the beauracracy needed to run a large scale government. At least the story has progressed with the invasion being over. I am hoping we start learning more about the aliens and if there are other survivors from Earth on Anyar.

I do have a major complaint though. The whole Ana (sorry if I butcher the spelling of names) marrying into Yozef & Mara’s family. It just felt like a guy’s fantasy of having two wives. At least there was not some threesome scene. In general he writes women in an awful way. It is like very noticeable.

I have a love-hate relationship with this series and right now the love is outweighing the hate.
