I decided to read the next novella in The Stormlight Archive. This one is set between Oathbringer and Rhythm of War. It focuses on one of the side characters, Rysn Ftori, and her adventure as a shipowner to the island of Akinah.
It was a great story that gave us more information about the Sleepless. There is so much happening in this series that sometimes it can be easy to forget about certain things. One of the reasons I like listening to the books again before the new one comes out.
The best part of the story though was learning more about Lopen and how he said the Third Ideal. It was a great moment of introspection from Lopen to realize that his jokes can sometimes hurt other’s feelings and that he needs to protect people, even from himself. I think most of us who tend to be sarcastic could feel that moment a little bit.
I like these novellas and look forward to the next one.
