I saw a post on either FB or Twitter that asked if the Joker was in Marvel, which superhero would he torment? People kept saying Spider-Man, and I could see the reasoning. Although I think more people say that because Mark Hamill did the voice of Hobgoblin and Joker in the different animated shows. The more I thought about it though, the less I like the Joker being a Spidey foe.
The Joker works so well with Batman because of the battle between rational/irrational. Order vs. chaos. Joker wants Batman to see the joke of the world. Spider-Man is not an avatar of order. The reason people gave is that Spidey jokes so much during fights that it would anger Joker. But I think that would cause the Joker to dislike him, but not want to play games with him.
So who would the Joker love to torment?
My first thought was Captain America. I think Joker would hate Cap’s righteousness. But I do not think he would get under Cap’s skin like he does Batman. Also, after a few mass murder situations, Cap may just kill Joker to be done with it.
Personally, I think Daredevil would be a great fit for the Joker’s brand of comedy. I think the Joker would love tormenting Daredevil’s religiosity. The hypocrisy of religion would be the perfect thing for Joker to exploit.

Wolverine or Punisher–either would just kill Joker right from the beginning
Iron Man or Reed Richards–probably use tech to bring him down, then alter Joker’s brain
The funny thing is I cannot see the Joker working in the Marvel universe. Maybe I am wrong, who do you think the Joker would pair best with in Marvel?
