A few years ago I posted about the song “Steal My Sunshine” by Len. Wait, it was five years ago? Jesus, where has the time gone. Anyways, I heard this today while cutting the grass, and I liked it.
I enjoy that Portugal.The Man decided to skip any subtlety, and let us all know what the song is about with that image in the video. Also, you have to love modern bands covering songs from the late 90s. Now I know how my dad felt when he heard Limp Bizkit covering The Who.
I think I like the original better, but I’m fine with this song. Your dad was probably more upset that it was Limp Bizkit rather than a Who song being covered.
He was weird about covers. I feel like he leaned in the camp of “should sound like the original” vs “put your own spin on a classic”
