I know everyone is talking about how this was such an exciting game, and you would think a Super Bowl going to overtime (only the second time ever!!!) would have had a bunch of really great moments. But in my opinion…it was kind of boring. Particularly the first half. No scoring in the first half, then some field goals sandwiched around a WR pass to CMC. At least the second half had scoring.
On a positive note, there were no terrible calls that everyone is talking about the next day. Instead, everyone is screaming about whether Travis Kelce assaulted Andy Reid. Kelce was frustrated and ran over to let Reid know, and when it happened live, it looked like Kelce just scared the crap out of his coach. Sometimes players are amped up and a bit vocal. No need to turn this into a big thing.
I cannot believe I am defending Travis Kelce. I do not like the guy. He has always seemed like a guy who just tries too hard to be famous. Like he would kill to have 10% of Gronk’s charisma. I bet if Gronk did SNL, it would be hilarious.
The halftime show was alright. I thought Usher was good, the guests were great, the performance was impressive. It was nothing mind-blowing, and if I were a big Usher fan, this would have meant more to me. As I say every year, I enjoy people complaining about the halftime show about as much as I appreciate the spectacle of a show that lasts like fifteen minutes.
Congrats to the Chiefs. I am ready for the next season.
