The Big Announcement Part 2

I think you can figure it out. Payton is going to be a big sister! For those of you that are still having troubles figuring it out…Lindsey is pregnant. It was not a shock or anything, we were definitely trying. We felt that the age difference would be pretty perfect.

Before you ask, Lindsey is due March 24th…possibly. We went to our appointment the other day and the doctor found the heartbeat very quickly. She said it was also very strong and Lindsey might be further along than we are thinking. I do not want to get into too many details, but we are pretty certain (conception date, last period, etc).

Funny story. Lindsey took the pregnancy test and it came up negative. But then, after a few hours, I looked at it again and it was positive. So she took another one and it also was positive. As you can see, the horizontal line is kind of faint compared to the vertical line.

Now a scary story. One night, Lindsey started having some pain, she went to the bathroom and she was bleeding. We looked up signs of a miscarriage and it seemed like it was not enough blood for it. The next morning she went to work and she was still in pain, so she ended up leaving and going to Medwell. They were concerned, so they sent her to the ER.

At this point, I am home with Payton and debating on what to do. Should I go to the ER? I did not want to go there with Payton, so Lindsey’s mom went there with her. Eventually, Lindsey called me and said that the doctor told her everything was fine. It was a scary few hours for us.

I am excited about this. Especially since everything seems to be healthy and fine. Lindsey may be getting past the early pregnancy sickness. You know how some women enjoy being pregnant and they talk about it being the greatest thing ever? My wife is not one of those women. She hates it. She feels like crap most of the time. It was not too bad the last time because you know, we did not have another kid. I mean, I just had to take Samson out and build a patio. This time though, I am definitely pulling double duty. And yes, I know someone is going to point out how that is my job. I get it. I just look forward to this kid being here and Lindsey being back to her normal self…and putting her clothes away.

For the announcement photo, we were going to try and do a picture of Payton pushing the swing, which she does all the time. Do you think she would cooperate? Not a chance. So here are some of the pictures we attempted.

Something tells me Samson is going to have his paws full.
