I feel like things are getting worse in this country. People are believing crazy conspiracy theories, shooting up places of worship, sending bombs to critics of the president, and other horrible things happening that barely get mentioned in the news.
I am frustrated and completely overwhelmed by the state of this world. I know that the answer most of you will say is “get out and vote.” But come on, voting is going to help get one political party in and the other out, but then in a few years, the other party will rally their voters and it will just be a never ending cycle.
This is not going to fix the hatred that half of the country feels for the other half. It will not stop the constant fighting on social media over every single thing that is happening. People died in a place of worship the other day and instead of bringing people together, this is also driving them apart. It makes me sick and sad.
Anyways, I just had to get that out. I highly suggest reading Sean’s blog for some very moving posts about the Squirrel Hill shooting.
