Hip Flexor Pain

When I hear a professional athlete heading to the disabled list or the IR because of a hip flexor strain/pull/tear/whatever, I usually roll my eyes and wonder what the hell that even means.

I WILL NEVER ROLL MY EYES AGAIN! In fact, if I hear about someone playing through a hip flexor injury, they will have my eternal respect. It is absolutely awful.

I do not even know what happened. I was at a seminar all day on Wednesday and everything was fine. I came home and played with Payton and Samson, then that night my hip started to bother me. I woke up Thursday and it really hurt, especially if I was sitting down. By Friday the pain was unbearable. I barely slept Thursday night, I kept waking up in pain.

At one point on Friday I sent Ryan a message. I told him what was bothering me and asked him if he knew what it could be and if there was any stretches I could do to alleviate the pain. He said that it could be a hip flexor (he also suggested arthritis or lower back issues). He gave me some breathing techniques and stretches to try.

I was on the floor attempting to do the stretches when Payton ran over and jumped straight on my chest. Needless to say, I waited until I put her to bed, then tried again. It felt a little better after the stretching.

This morning I woke up and the pain was a little less, I did some more of the stretches and for the most part, it was pretty much a dull throb all day. I think that over the next few days, it should subside and I will hopefully be back to normal.

I seriously cannot thank Ryan enough. Getting out of the car was near impossible, rolling over in bed would wake me up, trying to sit down would bring me close to tears. I am not exaggerating when I say that I do not think I could handle it much longer.
