Facebook Yard Sale Groups

Ever sale anything on Facebook? It can be the absolute worst. And yes, I have ranted about this before, but you get to hear it again.

Those groups are convenient for selling things, but some of the people are so freaking annoying. Here are some of the worst of the people you may deal with out there.

The Hagglers
You have to expect to deal with people wanting to negotiate prices. I have no problem with it. But sometimes, these people will go to the extreme. I love when something is $5 and the person messages me to ask if I am willing to take $4. I had a lady ask if we could meet somewhere so she could look at a dog crate. I told her to come by the house, she told me she was not comfortable. I said that I was not going to lug my kid and the crate out somewhere just so she could look at it. She said “okay, well if I find one cheaper than I will let you know.” Why do I care? I am not Walmart, I do not offer price matching. If you find one cheaper, cool. Buy it from that guy.

Late Comers
Probably my least favorite. We agree on a time to meet and they end up being five, ten, fifteen minutes late. It drives me crazy. The other day I had a guy stopping at the house for something. He was supposed to be here at 11:00 a.m. and he sends me a message saying he was running late and would be at my house at 11:30. Not a problem. Around noon, he was still not here. I messaged him and he apologizes and says that he is on his way. At 12:45, I told him that I had to get ready for work and we would have to do this another day. He responds that he is ten minutes from the Ebensburg exit. I said if he was not here by 1:00, then it was off. He pulled in at 12:57. He apologized, but seriously dude, two freakin’ hours.

Travelers
I love getting messages from people who ask if something is available. They then ask where I am located. I say Ebensburg and they say “that is too far for me.” Why would you be in the EBENSBURG YARD SALE group if it is too far? Another fun story. This girl wanted to buy a dog harness from me. It was $5. She said that Ebensburg was too far, she lived in Nanty Glo (which is not that far from here). She asks if I can come down to Nanty Glo and if I would be willing to take $3. Yeah, I will drive down to Nanty Glo for $3…not a freakin’ chance.

Not all of the people are bad. For the most part, people are normal. They stop by, they pay you, they take the stuff. But sometimes you have to deal with some idiots and it makes you want to scream.
