I read the first trade of The Boys by Garth Ennis and really liked it. I cannot remember why I stopped reading it (I think that was the time I started cutting back on what I read). Anyways, the first few issues and premise were very cool (and definitely hilarious).
The idea is that superheroes all come from some type of drug and that a company basically just creates them (as we see in the video). The Boys are a group of clandestine folks who deal with the superheroes when they get out of line. The first part deals with the new member, who watched his girlfriend die during a super battle.
The book was more comedic than anything (not sure how the rest of the series played out), but as with anything from Ennis, I can imagine there were some serious moments as well.
I may actually give this show a shot.
