T-Rex Battle

I finally got around to watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom last night. It was…meh. It had fun dinosaur battles, we finally got to see some triceratops action, but other than that it was average. That is not what this post is about…

At the end of the movie, there is a scene where the T-Rex runs into a large male lion at a zoo, they both roar at each other and we hear the words from Ian Malcolm that this is Jurassic World now.

I wondered how close that was to accurate. Would a lion look like it could fit in the mouth of a T-Rex like…well like a house cat in the mouth of a lion.

Okay, that does look pretty accurate. But after that size comparison, I started thinking “could a group of lions take down a T-Rex?”

And you know what? This is an age-old question. Seriously, here is a forum from 2007 where people have this discussion. It was cool reading an internet discussion that did not turn into a fight about politics. No one started accusing the others of being for Killary. Such simpler times.

So what do I think? Well, I think the T-Rex handles a pack of lions pretty easily. The lions working together can bring down a bull elephant, but that is an animal that is defending itself. A T-Rex would be attacking as well. The lions would probably be quicker than the dinosaur (I say probably because there are so many theories about the tyrannosaurus rex). However, the sheer size and weight of the T-Rex would probably be enough to put the cats down. That does not even factor in the giant teeth and powerful jaws that could rip them apart.

So who you got in this battle?
