Who: Marianne Williamson. Author, lecturer, activist.
Slogan: “Join the Evolution”
Positive: She has a strong background in activism and she is a well-known author, who could see a boost from plenty of the Oprah fans out there. She was Oprah’s spiritual adviser (whatever that is).
Negative: She is still relatively unknown. She seems to be fairly generic on her progressive stances.
My Thoughts: I do not know about her. She lost the election for a House seat in California. She has sold over three million copies of her books, and yet that does not seem to be helping her gain any traction. I do enjoy the logo. I think having a long name makes it hard for a logo, but she makes the first name work and I enjoy the 2020 in pink (or whatever color that is). It is a nice contrast to her name. The name is serious and straight lines, whereas the 2020 looks cutesy and whimsical.
Odds: Unknown
I think for a time it was not clear whether or not she would reach the threshold for inclusion in the debate. She hit both benchmarks (over 65K individual donors and at least 1% in three approved polls) and should probably be listed somewhere in the 100/1 range. Meaning, she has like zero chance.
