Who: Pete Buttigieg, Mayor of South Bend, Indiana
Slogan: “It’s time for a new generation of American leadership”
Positive: He pretty much has it all. Buttigieg is a smart, gay man, who just happens to be an military veteran. He is progressive, but not too far left to scare the moderates. He would also be the first millennial president.
Negative: He does not have a ton of experience, mayor of South Bend is not the biggest job in the world. Also, not sure how well his push for the white, working class voters of the Midwest resonates with people of color.
My Thoughts: Mayor Pete probably has my favorite logo. It is very clean and hip, it basically encapsulates the candidate very well. I like him and would have no problem voting for him. I wonder if our country is ready for a generational battle? Can you imagine Trump vs. Mayor Pete?

At the moment, he has a 12.5% chance of winning the nomination. I truly believe if he can resonate with Millennials and get them to turn out in higher numbers than ever before (I know, that is not the easiest thing in the world….getting young people to vote has been the goal of every candidate for like the last 100 years or so), and maybe find a way to reach more minority voters, then just maybe, he could win the nomination.
