More Facebook Stupidity

I saw a few people posting this recently and figured I would mock it. Yep, I am an asshole, whatever.

President was honored…

Okay, when was this? Every person posting this is a Trump supporter. Do they forget all the horrible stuff said about Obama and his family?

Maybe ask if John F. Kennedy felt like he was revered, while his brains were leaking out of his skull. Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, and William McKinley were all assassinated as well.

And those are just the successful assassinations, what about the failures:

-Andrew Jackson–guns misfired
-Abe Lincoln–sniper missed his head by inches
-Teddy Roosevelt–took a bullet during a speech, but kept going because he was a tough motherfucker
-Franklin D. Roosevelt–a guy shot at him and actually killed the mayor of Chicago
-Richard Nixon–a nutjob wanted to crash a plane into the White House
-Gerald Ford–a woman, who was a Charles Manson follower tried to shoot him, but forgot to load the gun (sorta)
-Ronald Reagan–took a bullet

I would say all of these presidents did not feel very honored in those moments.

Police were respected…

Again, when was this time? Some police deserve respect, some do not. The police who practice good community policing generally earn respect from people, we all know and have stories about those kinds of cops. However, there are plenty of stories out there of bad seeds. I am sorry, the police do not get a free pass, when they make mistakes they need to be called out for them.

Newborns were treasured…

Who does not treasure a newborn? OHHH, Democrats! We want to murder babies. So stupid. Another great moment of conservatives misrepresenting the position of the pro-choice crowd. It would be great if those conservatives who are so concerned about newborns actually gave two shits about those newborns once they reached more than a few days old. Or maybe show a little compassion about those children in cages at the border.

Vets were revered…

Again, conservatives love to play the patriotic card. This is totally a Kaepernick thing. They think people taking a knee during the anthem is disrespecting veterans. I will not rehash this argument, since I have written about it before.

Do they forget about the shitty way people in this country treated veterans when they returned from Vietnam? Or what about the numerous times when Republicans voted against bills that would benefit veterans? Instead of constantly thanking vets for their service (which is fine), maybe push our elected officials to actually vote for bills that would help them out. If you want to revere them, make sure when they come back that there are systems in place to protect them. Maybe reduce that suicide number or the homelessness issue. That would probably show your gratitude more than that thank you at the grocery store.

I swear these stupid memes annoy me way more than they should…
