I swear there is a new proposal for the MLB season everyday. And yet, time keeps moving on and there is still no baseball. I honestly do not expect sporting events to get back to normal for awhile. With that being said, MLB needs to get something going.
I like the idea of starting out the season in Arizona and having the teams play at the different spring training sites. Play games as much as possible and as restrictions are lifted around the country, then you start moving back to those cities (again, I think playing in front of fans will be out for this season).
I know that players are split on these ideas. They do not want to be away from their family for such a long period of time, but I am sure you can find ways to make it work for them.
Also, since there are no sporting events on at the moment, this could be a lucrative thing for MLB. Maybe they work out a deal with different networks to allow them to broadcast games. I am sure there would need to be plenty of legal discussion, but whatever, something can be arranged. Think about the ratings they would get right now? I feel like people would be tuning in just to see something new (especially sports fans who are going crazy right now).
Seriously MLB, get something done ASAP!
