I enjoy seeing some of my friends get into debates/arguments with Trump Cultists. Sometimes though, it can be frustrating to see how predictable and pointless it can become.
The other day a friend of mine asked a simple question of her friends: why do they support Trump? Here is my favorite response…
This one starts off with just about the same shit you hear from about twenty of the comments in the post. “He tells it like it is!” Strong economy, low unemployment, yadda yadda. It is crazy they are still touting that line when the economy is not doing so great and the unemployment rate is almost at the highest level it has been since the Great Depression. Probably not the time to bust out those lines.
It was just crazy that this person could not list any of his accomplishments. In fact, during any of these debates, no one could really mention something specific. And then the whole God chose Trump…yeah, okay. Trump is basically the same as all of those Biblical prophets and leaders.
This person almost starts the same as the other one, but then veers off into the pedophile conspiracy theory stuff. When will these people stop this nonsense? I would say when someone dies, but that almost happened and they still cannot stop. Anyways, then this person starts the attack. “Get over yourself. It’s not all about you. There are several billion other people in the United States besides yourself…” Umm, several billion? Wow, population really shot up there over the past few years. I am sure that is a typo. I was more impressed with how quickly this person turned on someone they consider a friend.
The next one was a little weird. I am friends with an Altoona sports writer and he had a rant about Donald Trump. The comments were impressive. This was one was my favorite. Think about what this guy is saying, that someone (probably him) would kick the OPs ass because of his comments about the president.
I love that this guy wants to give the OP some friendly advice. All because he said that Trump is a shitty president and will probably be done soon? Also, he gets his information from well-placed insiders? Yeah, okay. He watches FoxNews. I am not buying that some idiot from Altoona, who cannot figure out when to capitalize words somehow has insider information about what is happening in Washington.
I am sure someone reading this will be offended and want to give me the full Trump speech about how great he is and blah blah blah. Do not even waste your time. I do not engage with the Trump Cult. Sometimes I will comment on something if I see someone post something that is clearly not true. But for the most part, I do not bother with the arguments.
However, to the friends out there that continue to have these battles…I like to read them and tend to get a chuckle.
