I hope everyone has a great day. Be safe with fireworks, no need to spend the night searching for a missing thumb. Enjoy some food and drinks, but more importantly, enjoy the day with friends and family. And maybe try to think about what it means to be American.
These past few weeks have shown a light for many people on things that most folks would rather not talk or even think about. The America that many of us celebrate has a different meaning to so many others. I hope we can all reflect on those differences and realize that criticizing the imperfections of this country does not mean someone hates it here, it just means the country is not perfect and still has some work to do.
