The Miracle of Air

Our new house did not have central air. Neither did our old house, we just used window units. Unfortunately, the windows in this house are not conducive to those types of air conditioner. It looks like the previous owner did use them though, plus they had one of the portable Hisense units.

I was confused with how they used all of these things. I finally figured it out though when moving stuff around in the attic. They must have used plywood with a hole cut out for the window unit and they had a wood panel for the portable one. It could not have looked all that good. We decided to sell all of them and just get air installed.

Years ago I would have said it was crazy to spend that much money on air. Like, who needs their house to be that cool, just use fans. Maybe it is because I got used to air or maybe I am getting old, but as soon as the temperature went into the seventies, I found it to be unbearable in the house. Could possibly be that the house is brick, which retains the heat more than other types of house, so that probably played a part.

The company we used was excellent and the had the work done in a few short days. It has been worth every penny. As soon as I came home from work the first day it was done, I could feel the difference when I stepped through the door.

So yeah, one of the major projects on my list is complete. On to the next one.
