The Chromebook

Two years ago I got rid of my laptop and bought a desktop. My plan was to use my tablet for when I wanted to write blog posts and then finish them on the desktop. Unfortunately, I could never find a way to make that work. I bought two different keyboards, but I just did not like using it.

In fact, I did not really like using a tablet. I mean, the majority of the stuff I could use it for, I actually did on my phone. I decided to sell it the other day. I decided I was going to buy a cheap laptop. As I did some research, I started reading about Chromebooks. This was something that sounded perfect.

I really want something so that I can write while downstairs. Either while Payton is playing down here and watching Puppy Dog Pals or when Lindsey is sleeping and I am down here watching sports. Since we only have one cable box, live television is only available in the living room. The rest of the TVs have Rokus.

The downside to the desktop is that I did most of my blog writing while watching Pirates games or other sporting events. I bet my posting has decreased about 35% since then. It has nothing to do with having a kid. Nope, it was all because of limiting myself to being upstairs.

This is the first post with the Chromebook. I am definitely liking it so far. It is super lightweight and is surprisingly fast. For those that know nothing about them, they are basically completely stripped down. They do not run programs, but instead just run Google Chrome and a few other things. It is simple to use and you do not have to really worry much except being connected to the internet.

Naturally when I buy something, there is always a story. We are going away for a few days and I really wanted to have it for the trip. I ordered it the other day through Walmart and had it shipped to the store. It was supposed to arrive today. I checked the tracking information yesterday and it said it was in Duncansville and would be shipped to Ebensburg on Saturday.

Saturday afternoon, I checked again and it says that it has been delayed until Tuesday due to the hurricane. So I went up to Walmart and asked if they could check on it. I thought maybe there was a mistake. The girl told me that it was not there yet and due to the hurricane, it was going to be delayed.

I told her that it seemed weird that the tracking info said it was in Duncansville, so how does a hurricane affect things? I decided to cancel the order and buy one there. It was not the same one, but instead one that was a little nicer.

So now I have something that I can use to write more posts. I think all of you are totally excited!
