There was a story on IFLScience today about California being in trouble with their climate. Basically the wet-dry cycle could become even more extreme each year (droughts then flooding). Read the story if you are interested. That is not what I want to talk about today.
So many people commented about how they would be happy to see California go. I mean, just read these comments…
Look, I get that most of these people would claim they are just joking around. And obviously that is definitely their right. However, I feel like there are plenty of people who think this way and honestly mean it. Think about that for a second….hating members of a political party so much that you wish an entire state destruction. That would be like me saying “damn, I wish a meteor would hit Alabama and vaporize the entire state. Stupid conservatives!” I would never want that to happen.
I feel like this is the problem with our country. We hate each other. Why? Because of different political ideas? It is so stupid. Do you remember when those planes struck the towers on 9/11, did anyone say “at least a bunch of liberals/conservatives are dead!” No, we were upset because Americans died. And if California fell into the ocean, those would be Americans too. Same in Alabama, Iowa, Wyoming, or South Dakota.
So please, can we all just stop hating each other?
