I have been excited about this show since the moment it was announced. Hell, since even before then when there were rumors. I think Ewan McGregor showing up somewhere with a beard was the trigger for most of us, haha.
I have voiced numerous concerns about this show to my friends. If they are serious about Vader and Obi-Wan facing off again, then it cannot be on Tatooine. As we saw with The Book of Boba Fett, being stuck on that planet is just not that interesting (the best stuff came off-world with Mando). If Darth Vader comes to his home planet and fights his old master, and it does not make the Sith lord at all suspicious, then I will have some serious issues.
But I have this feeling that the Inquisitors show up on Tatooine and that spooks Obi-Wan enough to head off planet to try and rescue someone, and to get the Inquisitors to stop poking around the planet and maybe discover Luke. This also works for a rematch with Anakin.
My guess is they battle on some other planet and Obi-Wan scores a few good blows, but ends up escaping wounded. Vader believes his former friend and master is going to die (hence why he is shocked that Obi-Wan is alive in A New Hope). Maybe there is an explosion or something.
Also, there will be a line like this during the meeting:
Obi-Wan: Anakin, what have you become?
Vader: Anakin Skywalker is no more. I am Darth…
Obi-Wan attacks quickly before Vader finishes his name. During the fight, Obi-Wan keeps calling him Darth to get under his skin (also explains why in ANH he says “only a master of evil, Darth!”–yep, they will find a way retcon that line).
