I know what you are thinking…”why are you posting some dude singing an Adele cover?” Well, this is Dan Wilson, the lead singer of Semisonic. You know, the band that had that great song “Closing Time.” Turns out that Wilson wrote this song as well, or at least he wrote it with Adele. I love when I find out stuff like this. I actually learned this a few years from someone at work.
What made me think of it today? Well, Dan Wilson said something on Twitter about “Closing Time” being 24 years old. I laughed because in the thread someone asked if it was really about having a baby (I have heard that as well, and I think I even read an interview of his where he tells a story about wanting to write a song about his experience with becoming a parent, but thought his band would think it was lame). Anyways, his response was “partially true yes, also about bar time.” After that, the thread became rather amusing with people quoting the song and saying “I thought the song was about ___________”. It was one of those internet moments where people are nice and funny, instead of the normal awfulness.
