Decades Project: 1990s Music–Alt-Rock Hits

This week we are going to take a look at some of the one-hit wonders from the alt-rock world of the 90s. I would argue that some of these bands are not one-hit wonders, but I was a weirdo back in the day (just back then?) who would like a song, and buy the whole album and end up finding other songs I enjoyed. There might be a ton of songs since I truly love so many of these hits.

I feel like most of these bands have something in common…not sure exactly what, but it feels like they were all labeled alt-rock/alternative/whatever, and they just did not fit that label. These songs that made it big were adjacent to the genre, but the rest of their music might fall elsewhere (I don’t know, maybe I am talking out my ass, who knows).
