Time for another rant! This time about the stimulus checks…or more precisely, the way people react to what other people do with their checks. It is funny because I would have expected this to be something that split in a partisan way, but instead everyone seems to have some kind of shitty opinion about stimulus checks. Here are some of my favorites…
“That’s not what the money is for!”–This usually comes from the people who have not left their house in a year. They are able to work from home and they feel that everyone should be in the same position as them. We should use our stimulus checks for necessities, such as stocking up on canned soups and hand sanitizer.
“You should buy local!”–I see this from conservatives. Make sure you spend your stimulus check on American goods. And then they say you should not buy from big box stores, instead you need to buy stuff from the mom & pop shops.
“Guess the stimulus checks came out, everyone is out buyin’ TVs!”–Yep, plenty of televisions and other expensive items will be purchased with stimulus money. Same thing happens every year when people get their tax money. Just deal with it.
You get the idea. Now allow me to respond: who gives a shit! Seriously, whatever you want to buy with that money, then do it! You want to get some new golf clubs? I am sure the golf club store needs some sales. The whole point of the stimulus money is to STIMULATE THE ECONOMY! Anything you spend money, helps put money into the economy…which is what we need. Every type of business needs money now. From car dealerships to dildo shops. Basically everything, minus grocery stores and like Walmart. And honestly, you should probably still shop at those places since everything else is closed and you probably need food.
So anyways, mind your own damn business about what people spend THEIR money on. This is one of those times where you should just shut up and let people live their lives.
