Oh yeah baby, fantasy baseball weekly recaps are back! I know how excited everyone is about that fact. This year instead of doing studs/duds, I will just focus on one player. That player shall be my Killarney Of the Week (or KOW for short). It can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Stay tuned each week to find out! Also, Killarney is a reference to Ryan, so he should feel honored.
Anyways, the season did not start off the way I was hoping. I honestly felt like my team did not play THAT bad, just that Gideon’s team was that good. Nope. My team was terrible. I would have lost to everyone except James. That seems a little insane. I have to give Gideon some props though…11 holds, that definitely helped keep that WHIP/ERA down, and definitely overcame the save advantage I gained. Also, having Ohtani seemed to really help him out. It is crazy, he only had one guy who did not give up any runs, whereas I had four. Obviously his pitching staff was a bit more consistent all week.
KOW—Bradley Zimmer—KOW
I swear between Zimmer, George Springer, and Ender Inciarte, my OBP dropped from .350 to .323. Funny how those speedy guys cannot seem to get on base. Zimmer did manage to steal two bases, but other than that he was pretty abysmal. I have a feeling when it warms up (if that ever happens), he will be a bit more productive for me. However, I am worried that I cannot afford to hang on to him and Lewis Brinson at the same time.

Best Move of the Week
Adam2 picked up Shohei Ohtani (batter) after that first HR and it definitely paid off. Ohtani hit two more for Adam2 and knocked in four, while hitting .333, with a .400 OBP.
After the first week, I am in dead last. Obviously Gideon is in first place. This week I take on Matt. The rest of the league looks like this: Lindsey/Offord, James/Ryan, Jason/Dustin, Adam2/Pat, and Gideon/Sean. And since my wife won, we get our first song of the year!
This week I am going with the classic “Slow Ride” by Foghat. One of the songs from Dazed and Confused (actually the end of the movie). Obviously one of Parker Posey’s most iconic roles. Some of you may also remember this song from the time Jim Carey showed up at the MTV Movie Awards dressed as Jim Morrison (is that who he was impersonating? I can barely remember). Anyways, he says something like “would it kill you to play some fuckin’ Foghat?” Then the next year, when they announced his name for something, MTV played “Slow Ride” as he came on stage.
