History Fact: The city is the capital of a country that gained it’s independence from being a British protectorate in 1971. 
Economics Fact: This city began as the center of the pearl trade, but after it gained independence started drilling for oil. Yeah, they found some of that black gold, Texas tea…
Geography Fact: The city’s name comes from the rounded bays in the coastline. As you can tell though, they have created artificial islands, the main one being The Pearl (I promise I will not make any Lost  jokes here)–which cost about $15 billion to create.
Climate Fact: Hot AF! The record high was 122.7 in July 2010. The average summer temps are well over one hundred degrees. 
Sports Fact: The host of this year’s World Cup.
Education Fact: There are many universities in this city such as Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, and Texas A&M.
