Top 50: Favorite TV Shows (40-31)

How did you like that list from yesterday? Hopefully today’s list has less shows featuring Tim Allen.

40. The Newsroom
This show has one of the great opening speeches. You know, one of those speeches that only Aaron Sorkin can write. The show had other great moments and it gave you a little hope that maybe a news show could be that way…I wonder what the show would have to say about the news now?

39. The Clone Wars
This show could be higher, but so much of the first two seasons sucked. And it had so many episodes that just bored the crap out of me. BUT, when it was good, my goodness was it good. The Ahsoka arc is incredible and one of the reasons everyone should watch the series.

38. The Wire
I watched this show much later than most people. I went into it thinking it was going to be the greatest show of all-time. I enjoyed it and can definitely see how people think it is that great.

37. Veep
One of the funniest shows ever. The entire cast was perfect. I started watching this show during the third season and then had to go back to watch the first two seasons.

36. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Funny and touching. This show had it all. I still think about the ending or the relationship between Will and Uncle Phil. And come on, the Carlton Dance is classic.

35. Animaniacs
One of the greatest cartoons ever. I loved coming home from school and watching it. I probably sing songs from it or quote it more than any other cartoon.

34. Royal Pains
A doctor show set in the Hamptons. It should be idiotic and yet, I really enjoyed it. It just did such a good job with building the characters and having them grow.

33. Smallville
“SOMEBODY SAVE ME!!!!” Is there any better opening to a show? You hear Remy Zero belt out those lyrics and it just gets you excited for the show to start. Yes, the show sometimes got stupid with all of the romantic will they or won’t they. But, we got a Superman show that never showed him in his costume (okay, not for almost the entire run), and it was damn good.

32. Louie
Alright, let me address the fact that Louis CK ended up being a dickbag, and I know we are not allowed to ever like anything he ever did. With that said…I do not care. This show was still hilarious, dark, silly, and sad. The relationship between Louie and his daughters was one of the realest things on TV.

31. Chappelle’s Show
The greatest sketch comedy show of all-time? I think so. There are so many hilarious skits, that it would be hard to mention all of my favorites. I feel like during that time it was impossible to find anyone around my age that did not quote the show.
