Payton’s 6th Birthday Party

We decided to have Payton’s party at the house this year. When Lindsey was asking Payton what she wanted her party theme to be, Payton did not really know, but she asked if she could have donuts instead of a cake. Payton loves maple frosted donuts, so Lindsey decided to make donut the theme. It was a painting party for Payton and her friends, and guess what? They painted a donut. It was cool.

Lindsey kept saying she was going to keep it simple, but then the night before I had to blow up like a hundred balloons for some balloon donut arch. It was simply decorated, well except for the stations: coffee, hot chocolate, milk, and donut. Simple. Well, we had to rearrange the entire living room, carry up a bunch of tables & chairs. Very simple. Oh, the Christmas tree just takes up too much space, please take it down and put the ornaments away the morning of the party. SUPER SIMPLE STUFF…

Ohhhhhh well. It was a great party. After the kids were gone, the family came over to celebrate Payton’s birthday. I like doing it that way. Adults do not want to sit around while a bunch of six-year-olds paint donuts.

And yes, in case you wondered. I have continued my weird tradition of wearing the same shirt for all of Payton’s birthday parties.

Cleaning up after was not nearly as fun though…
