Star Wars: The High Republic–The Battle of Jedha

I enjoyed the Phase II audio drama, The Battle of Jedha, by George Mann much better than the first two books of this phase. These audio dramas are such high quality, I love how they feel like a movie. I also really enjoy the different sects of Force users, and how they approach the Force.

Some random thoughts…

-Is this another case of me being annoyed by the Jedi? Silandra Sho comes into contact with the Leveler. The Jedi at the end of the first book finds the husks (or the remnants?) on Dalna, did he not report that to the Jedi Council? Then when they heard Sho’s story, did that stick out as connected. Especially since the Path of the Open Hand were connected to both???

-Speaking of the Path. I wish the Mother was less contriving (she has an agenda, and a past), and instead was just truly a zealot. I find that scarier, but also understandable. Like if you thought that Force users were truly causing pain & suffering every time they used the Force, then ridding the galaxy of the Jedi would make sense.

-If the Jedi do eventually battle this Leveler, or more than one, then it will be upsetting that no one remembered them being a threat 150 years later. It is even crazier when you think there are Jedi alive during both phases. You mean Yoda does not teach a basic class to younglings on how to survive a Leveler attack?

I look forward to the next book to see how this all plays out. I feel like the Jedi in this book (Master Sun, Silandra Sho, and Aida Forte) were all interesting enough to build this phase around them a bit more.
