Best of 2020: Favorite Sports Moment

This was definitely not the year for sports. The pandemic put the kibosh on most sports and when they did resume it was all very different. Baseball had a short season, which was fun to watch, but the Pirates were absolutely awful. The NBA & NHL playoffs were exciting, but again, very different without fans.

The Steelers started out undefeated, going 11-0 before finally losing to the Washington Football Team. I was never as high on the Steelers going undefeated as others (I figured with the way they lost their bye week and the fact that Ben is older, the lack of rest would start to show). In fact, I was in favor of them resting a bunch of starters against someone like the Bengals or Cowboys.

I did watch way more golf this year than most other years. It was probably one of the first sports to come back that I was interested in watching. I definitely enjoyed watching Bryson DeChambeau and rooting against him.

My favorite moment of 2020 had to come from early in the year. The Penn State men’s basketball team had me more excited for college hoops than I had been in years. Watching Lamar Stevens was a treat and I could not wait to see how Penn State would do in the March Madness Tournament. Unfortunately the tournament was canceled and Stevens is now in the NBA, so we will never know how things would have turned out. My favorite moment was when they were ranked #9 in the country. That was cool.
