2023 Golf Picks–PGA Championship

The PGA Championship starts tomorrow, which is the second leg of the majors pool. I finished in fourth for the Masters, so hopefully I can do a bit better this week.

Tier 1: Jon Rahm–Yeah, I took him for The Masters and it paid off. I decided to take him again. I feel like he has the best odds of winning. Or at the very least finishing in the top five. I debated on taking Scottie Scheffler or Xander Schauffele (I am convinced he will win a major soon), but decided to go with Rahm for Tier 1 because I think he is more reliable.

Tier 2: Tyrrell Hatton–There were some great options in this tier, but I decided to go with Hatton. I know some people hate him, but he played very well last week, and he makes me laugh with his antics. I think he has a nice week.

Tier 3: Tommy Fleetwood–talk about an impressive turnaround. He was not playing well for a while, but things have rebounded for him. I think he has the chance to make a run at a major. I can definitely see him being that guy that is in the hunt, but then has a letdown on Sunday, finishes like third.

Tier 4: Wyndham Clark–He won last week. He is young, and I liked how his odds were one of the best amongst tier four. I feel like Gary Woodland’s driver plays well here, but his short game has been so bad.

Tier 5: Abraham Ancer–he is a sneaky one that has this weird habit of just being in the top fifteen it feels like. Not someone that I give much of a chance to win it all, but I think he is solid enough to not miss the cut, which in this format of the pool, is super important.

Tier 6: Thomas Pieters–remember how salty he was about being excluded from The Masters? I feel like he has something to prove to the world. I could totally see him being this year’s Mito Pereira. A two day leader.
