Logan’s First Baseball Game

Lindsey and I were off yesterday and we were trying to figure out something to do since it was one of the days not calling for rain. She wanted to go to the zoo, but I did not feel like driving to Pittsburgh. I suggested we go to a Curve game instead. I asked my brother if he and his girlfriend would like to join us. And that is how you make plans and be spontaneous at the same time. I should also mention that Lindsey made me do a bunch of outside work before we left though.

We took Payton to her first baseball game on August 24th in Pittsburgh. That would put her at seven months old. Needless to say, a two month old offers a bit more of a challenge. As you can see in the above picture, Payton is sitting up on her own and is quite fine. Also, Payton was much easier about feeding.

Logan did good though. We fed him a bottle as soon as we got inside (he was screaming as we bought tickets) and for the majority of the game he was fine. Lindsey & Rachel (for those of you who are bad at context clues, she is Adam’s girlfriend) took the kids to the play area for a bit, while my brother and I enjoyed the game. Okay, I enjoyed the game. Adam hates baseball, but loves hanging out with his cool brother.

Then during the 9th inning, Logan started screaming and we knew it was close to bottle time. Fortunately (unfortunately for the Curve), the final inning went fast and we were able to leave and feed him in the car. He survived his first game! He also saw them lose (6-1 to the Portland Seadogs), which keeps up the tradition! The Pirates lost at her first game too!

It was a great time and I am so glad that Uncle Adam & Rachel joined us for Logan’s baptism by the baseball gods. Adam may hate baseball, but he loves his niece and nephew, and will do anything for them…like sitting through a baseball game!

Something tells me this will not be Logan’s last game of the season…
