2021 NFL Predictions

Last year had to be one of the worst performances of my prediction career (I think I say that every year, haha). I only picked ten of the thirty-two places correctly. I only got three division winners (Titans, Chiefs, Seahawks). I did not even get all the worst place teams right. People think it is always the same teams in football, but damn, try predicting where they will finish and see how predictable the league is (or maybe I am just an idiot).

I am happy the NFL has decided to issue forfeits this year if teams have COVID outbreaks and cannot field enough players (the whole thing with the Steelers last year was messed up–I do not say that as a homer fan, as you know I am usually highly critical of the fanbase, haha…but seriously, they moved the schedule all around to help other teams and the Steelers ended up losing out on their bye week–I think that took a toll on them, I was a huge proponent of them sitting most of their starters when they were undefeated against the Cowboys, but whatever). Anyways, on to my picks!

I think the Patriots have a bounce back, but they are not quite ready to retake the East yet. The sexy pick is to take the Browns to win the division and people are picking the Steelers to finish third and have a bad season. I have a feeling this will be another crazy year for the North. I would not be shocked if this entire division ended up completely wrong. I think the Titans have this division handled, I am not sure what the Colts are going to be like. The Jaguars will be better than last year, but they are not ready to move into that conversation yet. The Chiefs and everyone else out in the West.
Wild Cards: Patriots, Steelers, Browns

I am still a believer that if your division champ has a losing record, then you should not be in the playoffs. Personally, if you have a losing record and win your division and there is a team with 10+ wins in the other conference who does not make the playoffs, then they should get your spot. So yeah, last year the Dolphins would have played in the NFC playoffs (seriously, how cool would that be???).  Anyways, that is a long way of saying that the NFC East sucks. I have no clue who will win this division. I will take the Eagles because I like what Jalen Hurts can do. I think if the Giants can get their line under control, they could end up being sneaky good. Over in the North, it is hard to bet against the Packers, but they had some drama this offseason, so who knows how things go. I do not care if Tom Brady is fifty years old, they are still the best team in that division. The West…is like the East, but with all the teams having the potential of being good, haha.
Wild Cards: Seahawks, 49ers, Saints

AFC Wild Card Round: Patriots over Titans, Browns over Ravens, Bills over Steelers
NFC Wild Card Round: Rams over Saints, Packers over 49ers, Seahawks over Eagles
AFC Divisional Round: Chiefs over Browns, Bills over Patriots
NFC Divisional Round: Buccaneers over Seahawks, Rams over Packers
AFC Championship: Bills over Chiefs
NFC Championship: Rams over Buccaneers
Super Bowl: Rams over Bills

Can you imagine if the Bills lose another Super Bowl? The entire city will probably commit ritual suicide. But seriously, I am just trying to pick someone different. If I were a betting man, I would take the Bucs and Chiefs, haha.

What do you think of my picks? Leave your Super Bowl prediction in the comments!
